BAMBOO RUGS

Unlike other natural fiber rugs which are either woven or tufted, bamboo rugs resemble the appearance of hardwood.  Though bamboo is abundant in various tropical countries, bamboo carpeting is sourced chiefly from China. 

Most bamboo rugs are undyed, showing color variations which are preferred by designers.  For glossier or darker shades bamboo rugs can also be coated with PPC.  Like sisal or seagrass, bamboo can be used for wall to wall or area rug applications as it can be custom-sized.

Among all natural fiber rugs, bamboo is perhaps the easiest to maintain.  Resistant to most stains, dirt on bamboo rugs can be wiped or swept.  The rugs can also be vacuumed to remove dust in between the slats.

Most bamboo rugs are backed by felt.  For added grip, some rugs have dotted felt backing or pre-attached vinyl pads.
