Mountain Grass owes its name to the geographical conditions from which its fibers are harvested. Abundant in countries along the Pacific Rim, mountain grass is native to high altitude slopes. The fibers are thick and rigid, taking on a wood-like appearance. Just like seagrass, Mt. Grass only comes in natural colors, hence the presence of color variances and imperfections that add to each rug’s beauty.

Mountain grass rugs blend well with dark flooring surfaces such as hardwood and tiles. It warm colors bring a calm ambience to living rooms and hallways. For added support, Mt. Grass rugs are backed with natural latex and bound with cotton tape. Unlike seagrass however, Mt. Grass has a low tolerance for locations with high moisture levels. Though Mt. Grass is durable enough to withstand heavy traffic, exposure to moisture makes it susceptible to stains, molds, and mildew.

To preserve its beauty and quality, periodic vacuuming is recommended. Spills should be blotted immediately using a clean cloth.
